Ambriel Acres Alpacas

In this blog, I'm going to talk about our alpaca farm, Ambriel Acres Alpacas. We are located in the Middle Tennessee Valley between Nashville and Chattanooga. We'll be essentially starting from the ground up so if you're thinking about starting your own alpaca business, this might be a good place to learn. If you're just curious, welcome aboard.

Introducing Wira Cocha

In my previous post I said we had some exciting news. Well, I wanted to wait until it was official. Now it is so here we go.

We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to purchase a herdsire. And not just any herdsire. We have acquired 4Peruvian Wira Cocha. You can do a Google search to find out who this incredible animal is. I’ll give you a brief explanation here.

The legendary 4Peruvian Wira Cocha is one of only two males brought from the Quenamori region of Peru in the 1996 importation. This male stamps his offspring with dense, well defined crimp fleece and is the sire of many award winning offspring. He was formerly one of the most prized herdsires of Mariah Alpacas and the late Earlah Swift, who was an early “pioneer” in the U.S. alpaca industry and worked tirelessly and lovingly to create a superior North American herd.

Having this distinguished herdsire at Ambriel Acres Alpacas will solidify our breeding program and enable us to continue our mission of producing the very best alpacas with exceptional fleece.

Thanks to Jennifer Clark and Scott & Janet Swift for the use of the stock photos.
