Ambriel Acres Alpacas

In this blog, I'm going to talk about our alpaca farm, Ambriel Acres Alpacas. We are located in the Middle Tennessee Valley between Nashville and Chattanooga. We'll be essentially starting from the ground up so if you're thinking about starting your own alpaca business, this might be a good place to learn. If you're just curious, welcome aboard.

More Sprucing Up

With Christmas just weeks away, things are slow around here. With the exception of Christmas decorations, there isn't much going on at the ranch. We're still working on barn design and contractors, as well as fencing options. Tara and I are leaning toward the barn design below:

We would like a wooden barn like the old days. It seems wood pole barn building is a lost art. Not many people are building them these days as they are being replaced by the metal structure.

Last week we saw temperatures in the 70's which thankfully enabled me to clear some more of the old fence row in a t-shirt. There were remnants of an old rusty barb-wire fence that I removed as well as a number of unrelated thicket-forming thorny plants, better known as briar's. I took a before and after photo for comparison.
